Concept: It Comes From the Deep is a fully fleshed out Island Campaign locale.
Content: Coming in at a massive 27 pages this Supplement contains 11 Major Adventure Locations with Rollable Charts that are fully detailed with Maps. All Five of the major Pirate Borg Factions are represented with details on where, why and who is there representing each. History of the Island and Rumors (both true and less so..) for all Factions are also presented alongside The Psalm of Summoning, a 13 Day Ritual that causes a new catastrophe to befall the Island each day.
Writing: The Isle of the Black Sands welcomes you! This supplement has a lot to offer to any Harbourmaster, with so much of the detail already presented this product is a joy to work with. Everything you need is tightly packed in here to answer any and all questions that you or your Players might have. Each area is set up in the Spread Format so there is minimal page flipping necessary at the table. At no time is any of the content overwhelming or unnecessary, it is all simply informative with maximum efficiency. All of the included Travel Charts are highly detailed which eliminates a lot of repetitive action.
Art/design: At this point, Mr. Gibbs is in the refining stage of his creative process with Pirate Borg. Every background is subtle but present enough to be evocative and never intrusive. Tables are all using Fonts and Styles that are completely legible. Colour choices are all exceptionally thought out to maximize impact and not overtake the content.
Usability: If you need a Campaign starter, or merely an extended layover area while you plan out your own new Adventures to set your Pirate Crew on, this Supplement will serve you well. Based entirely on the Charts and Faction narratives, It Comes From the Deep is well worth having in your collection. One can never have enough Rollable Tables to use and the D100 Items Table at the end is excellent for adding a little 'every day' variety to your Games. Highly Recommended.
